Groundbreakers Kamala Harris, Issa Rae, Chadwick Boseman & the Late Gwen Ifill Honored
ATLANTA (Jan. 30, 2017) –- Bounce the first-and-only over-the-air broadcast television network for African Americans, will honor Black History Month throughout February with a line-up of critically-acclaimed and award-winning motion pictures and mini-series, all with historical significance and relevance.
The African-American centered films Bounce will showcase during February include The Color Purple, Ghosts of Mississippi, Panther, Cadillac Records, Sounder, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, and more. Bounce will also air the EMMY® and NAACP Image Award-winning mini-series, Alex Haley’s Queen.
The tribute will also include a new original short-form series called “Black History Honors” which spotlights trailblazing African Americans Kamala Harris, California’s first African-American U.S. Senator, Issa Rae, Golden Globe® nominated actress, writer and producer, Chadwick Boseman, who played Jackie Robinson in the motion picture 42 and the late Peabody Award-winning journalist Gwen Ifill.
